Automated Garbage Removal Service
Public Works & Environmental Services strives to provide
excellent garbage services for the City's residents. Old fashioned
manpower is being reduced in the next year by almost 90% as a result of
efficient machines in Deerfield Beaches’ garbage removal system.
Garbage carts that are designed to be automatically lifted by fully
automated collection vehicles are currently being utilized in 80% of
neighborhoods. Independence Bay, Waterways, and Old Coral
Manor/Buckingham were phased in August 2008. The last section of
Deerfield Beach will be the Crystal Lake/Meadowridge area in 2009. Each
single family home will receive one 64 gallon automated garbage cart
from the City of
Additional containers are not being distributed at this time.
Recycling Assessments are provide free for residents with large amounts
of garbage. Recycling every week is strongly encouraged. One serial
number on the cart has been assigned to each house. Record your cart's
serial number. If the cart is lost or stolen, the serial number is
needed for tracking. If the resident moves, the can must remain at the
address issued.
